Eric has done it again! This third installment of the Starside Saga may be the best one yet. It has a twist to it that will surprise you. Get it and enjoy the ride!
Not Unlimited, got the first one through one of my freebie sites, 2 and 3 from the writer as ARCs {so the usual free book in hopes of review, own free will, etcetera}. Odd/different, the prequel being the shortest with 2 a bit longer and this one seems a bit longer than that. Going by main book site 4 means liked it just not quite loved it per star ratings matching {goodreads}.
In one you are introduced to Kila, her magic powers, the ancient city of Starside, banned magical cats, people who want to help her and people who want to enslave her and people who want her dead. All she ever wanted to do was to live in peace, far away, and be successful at her job as a thief. In 2 as her powers grow so does the amount of people that want to help her, control her or kill her. Then there is the issue of the city beneath the city.In 3 she has to kill someone, try to save others {failing at least once}, meets new people and loses some old ones,

My third read from author Eric Kent Edstrom continues developing the world and characters created in Thief of Sparks (Starside Saga #1) & A Raven's Dream (Starside Saga Book 2). I want more and I want it now! When does book #4 come out? I guess I’ll have to get some of his other works. Why can’t I review this in Goodreads?
This is the third in the Starside Saga that must be read in order to fully appreciate and understand what is going on. As was with the others in the series this installment is well written. Our main Kila uses her powers to kill for the first time. Now more that ever the factions are after her. This was a great addition to the series and moves it along quite a bit. The cats are back a little more prominently-I just love them. After all the twists and turns I'm looking forward to the next in the series. I can recommend this to all love the science fiction genre.

"Starside Saga continues to be a story of magic, stealth, telepathic cats, and the love the binds friends to each other." That's what the kindle blurb says and it's a pretty darn good description. What it's missing is the thrills and adventure, sacrifice and growth that are equally key elements to this series, and this book in particular.
Kila is a great character and one who is growing in maturity and abilities both mundane and magical. It's a true pleasure following along and seeing how she develops. Character development is clearly one of this author's strengths though, as the supporting cast also grows more and more complex and real. Add in a strong plot and this becomes an addictive read. I found it hard to put down and ended up reading through half the night. It was just that good.

Kila, the boys and all the cats are back for another adventure in Starside. Kila now needs to come up with a plan to save Henley from the Hargothe. The story was well written and time flew as I got sucked into Kila's world again as she tries to stay out of the hands of whoever is trying to use her this time. Full of a few twists and turns I was never quite sure what was going to happen next. Great book to read. I cannot wait to see what happens next as the ending had a great twist and introduced 2 questions that I cannot wait to be answered all dealing with Kila of course. I received a copy for free and this is my honest review. Great addition to the Starside Sage!
Well the story goes on. Kila kills for the first time and she has to face the psychological sequences but she does not let it get her down.She plods on never letting her enemies overwhelm her. The plot is full of unexpected twists.New characters are introduced.We see the interesting interaction between the Hargothe and his brother Marlow. Kila's friends find themselves from rescued to rescuers as the roles become reversed.Quinn Peline makes her appearance and, generally speaking, the story is a constant roller coaster.The role of the cats increases in the story and the cat Oly takes on an interesting role at the end of the book. Generally speaking the story grips you from the very beginning and makes you want to go on reading to see where it will take you. I am eagerly waiting for the next installment of the story.
Eric has proved to be a talented master of his craft.
